General Information

The Economic Zones Development Agency, operating under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, currently manages 9 industrial parks, 3 industrial districts, the Yevlakh Pilot Agropark, and a Vocational Education Center.

 

The Agency’s primary mission is to create a favorable and sustainable environment for the development of highly competitive industrial production within industrial zones. To this end, residents are provided with fully developed, state-funded infrastructure, including electricity, gas, water, roads, communication networks, and other essential utilities.

 

Residents of industrial parks benefit from extensive tax and customs incentives. Specifically, they are exempt from profit, property, and land taxes for a period of 10 years from the date of registration. Additionally, machinery, technological equipment, and installations imported for production purposes are exempt from value-added tax (VAT) and customs duties for a period of 10 years.

 

The Economic Zones Development Agency was established as a public legal entity by the Decree No. 1257 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated January 22, 2021, on the basis of “Sumgait Industrial Park” LLC, in order to improve the management of industrial parks, industrial districts, and agroparks.

 

The Charter of the Agency was approved by the Presidential Decree No. 1506 dated December 21, 2021.
