- President of the Swiss Council of States Jean-René Fournier visited Sumgait Chemical İndustrial Park
On October 10, President of the Council of States of the Swiss Confederation Jean-René Fournier visited Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park.
Guests were informed about operating in the country industrial parks, as well as about favorable conditions created for entrepreneurs, modern infrastructure, the services provided for residents, and the benefits applied. It was noted that incentive measures are being taken to residents of industrial parks as a wide range of services. Thus, residents of industrial parks are exempted from VAT, customs duties and taxes on income, property, land for 7 years, as well as import of machinery, technology and equipment.
It was also noted that along with other sectors of the economy, Azerbaijan and Switzerland are carrying out successful investment cooperation. A good examples of cooperation between the two countries are operating in Azerbaijan Swiss companies “Holcim” (specializing in production of construction materials), as well as SIKA LLC, a resident of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, which produces various types of construction chemicals.
The presentation of industrial parks was held at the meeting.
President of the Swiss Council of States Jean-René Fournier said that the purpose of their visit to the Park was to get acquainted with the conditions created for entrepreneurs, and residents' activity of the industrial park. Mr. President expressed interest in attracting Swiss entrepreneurs to invest in industrial parks operating in Azerbaijan. Jean-René Fournier praised the conditions created for residents of industrial parks.
Finally, prospects for investing in industrial parks were discussed, as well as exchange of views were held.
Then the guests became acquainted with the work implemented in Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, the production process in polypropylene and high-density polyethylene enterprises of SOCAR Polymer LLC, which is the resident of the Park.
