In our country, systematic measures are being taken to develop entrepreneurship, including agricultural business, modernize the agro-industrial complex, strengthen food security, and agricultural parks are established based on modern technologies in accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to accelerate the development of the non-oil sector. In this regard, the project of the Yevlakh Pilot Agropark, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Economy, is a favorable platform for the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

The symbolic opening of the Yevlakh Pilot Agropark took place on December 4 with the participation of the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and the head of the Yevlakh Region Executive Power Anar Taghiyev. Mr Jabbarov became familiar with the information about the agricultural park and stands. A meeting with entrepreneurs was held in the agricultural park, discussions were held, and their proposals were heard. Following that, trees were planted in the garden of the agricultural park together with entrepreneurs.

Note that in the 1,147-hectare part of the Yevlakh Pilot Agropark with a total area of 2855, created by the Agency for Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy, it is planned to create 100 family farms with plots of 20 hectares, including more than 40 medium-sized enterprises, and social gardens on 60 hectares for 60 low-income families within the framework of the self-employment program. In addition, 1133 hectares of the agricultural park will be planted with fodder crops and sugar beets, 236 hectares - cotton and grain crops, 129 hectares - processing and social zones and a beef stock farming with 3 thousand cattle heads.

The total cost of the Yevlakh Pilot Agropark project is 103 million manat, of which 29 million manat will be formed at the expense of public funds and 74 million manat - through private investment. 500 people will be provided with permanent jobs, and 1,000 people - with seasonal work in the agricultural park.

The Yevlakh Pilot Agropark will build infrastructure at the expense of state funds, issue a document to residents to encourage investments and introduce a "Single-Window" system.

The agricultural park will lay orchards to grow pomegranates, almonds, persimmons, olives, cherries, apricots, peaches and others. Food industry enterprises will be created in the processing zone. These enterprises plan to produce packaging products, dried fruits, jams, meat and dairy products, pasta, canned food, fruit seedlings, seeds (barley and wheat), feed and fertilizers, greenhouse vegetables and others. In addition, non-traditional gardening, agriculture and other innovative industries will develop in the agricultural park.

It is planned to introduce a "smart" management system in the agricultural park (climate station, pheromone camera, drone monitoring of fields, soil sensor, and other agro applications), agronomist and business consulting services.

The “smart” control system will create new technological solutions for determining the best time for sowing, preventing diseases, monitoring crops, measuring soil moisture, agrotechnical tending, etc.

Also, international certification of production will be supported in order to diversify the sales market for manufactured products.
