A media tour has been organized to the Aghdam Industrial Park, managed by the Agency for Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the visit, journalists were introduced to the industrial infrastructure established in the park, operating enterprises, and ongoing manufacturing processes.
Head of the International Cooperation and Public Relations Department of the Agency for Development of Economic Zones, Taleh Guliyev, informed journalists that Aghdam Industrial Park was established by a Presidential Decree dated 28 May 2021 to support the reconstruction of the liberated territories and foster the development of their industrial potential. He noted that a favorable business environment has been created in the park to promote entrepreneurial activity. As a result, Aghdam Industrial Park currently ranks second among Azerbaijan's industrial zones in terms of the number of resident companies, following Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park.
Resident status has been granted to 30 business entities with planned total investments of up to AZN 300 million, while four entrepreneurs have been granted non-resident status. To date, investors have invested more than AZN 177 million in the park, creating 1,230 permanent jobs.
Currently, 12 enterprises are operating in the park, construction of another 12 enterprises is underway, while 10 additional projects are at the design stage. Nearly 60% of the park's territory has already been allocated to entrepreneurs.
During the first six months of 2026 (January–June), enterprises operating in Aghdam Industrial Park generated product sales worth AZN 976 million, including AZN 42 million in exports.
As part of the media tour, journalists visited the footwear manufacturing facility of BAFCO Invest LLC, where the production of various types of footwear and polyurethane boots has been underway since April 2024. The factory has an annual production capacity of 360,000 pairs of safety footwear and 150,000 pairs of polyurethane boots.
Deputy Director for Production Musa Alizade stated that the factory currently employs nearly 80 people, the majority of whom are former internally displaced persons from the Aghdam district. The facility manufactures around 20 different models of footwear and polyurethane boots.
"Our products are supplied to both domestic and international markets. We have already exported to several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Russia and Kazakhstan. Another shipment has recently been dispatched to Kazakhstan. We also intend to expand cooperation with a number of Western countries and have already received positive feedback from our partners. In the near future, we plan to enter the markets of the Middle East, Central Asia and Europe," he said.
The journalists also visited the metal power pole manufacturing facility operated by Construction LLC. Company representative Vusal Karimov noted that the plant has an annual production capacity of 7,200 tonnes of steel utility poles. The products are supplied throughout Azerbaijan, while manufacturing is based on Chinese technology.
The media representatives then observed the production process at Eel Electric LLC. Electrical engineer Elvin Mahizzade said the company manufactures low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
"Our objective is to compete in the global market. We closely monitor international demand and seek to manufacture products that meet market needs using modern technologies. We also prioritize the employment of young professionals, with the majority of our workforce consisting of local residents," he said.
The media tour also included a visit to the wallpaper manufacturing plant of Mister Decor LLC, one of the park's export-oriented enterprises. Established on a 1.6-hectare site, the facility is the first specialized wallpaper factory in the South Caucasus. The plant, which commenced operations in September 2024, is equipped with machinery imported from China, while raw materials are sourced from China and several European countries.
The factory has an annual production capacity of 2.1 million wallpaper rolls. Most of its products are sold on the domestic market, particularly for housing projects being implemented in Karabakh. At the same time, exports have already been made to Uzbekistan, Georgia, Türkiye and Russia, with plans to further expand the company's export geography.
It should be noted that the projects being implemented in Aghdam Industrial Park are contributing to the development of modern industry in the region while strengthening the economic foundations of the Great Return program.
