During the trip to Garabagh, the delegation led by the Minister of Economy and the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group visited the Aghdam Industrial Park, educational and social infrastructure facilities, and toured historical and cultural monuments.
A delegation headed by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, and President of the Islamic Development Bank Group Muhammad Al Jasser visited Garabagh.
During the trip, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, informed the guests about the ongoing reconstruction and restoration efforts, as well as infrastructure projects being implemented in the liberated territories.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured Aghdam Industrial Park. During meetings with entrepreneurs, discussions focused on increasing production capacity and export-oriented development prospects. Opportunities for cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank Group in the areas of sustainable economic development and strengthening the private sector were also reviewed.
It should be noted that more than 70% of the territory of the Aghdam Industrial Park, which operates under the management of the Economic Zones Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy and covers an area of 190 hectares, has already been allocated to entrepreneurs. Residents of the industrial park are exempt from property, land, and profit taxes for a period of 10 years from the date of registration. In addition, imported machinery and equipment are exempt from VAT and customs duties. Certain raw materials and supplies imported for production purposes are also exempt from VAT for 10 years.
Within the framework of familiarization with educational and social infrastructure projects in the liberated territories, the guests visited the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center built by Kazakhstan in the city of Fuzuli, Nursery-Kindergarten No. 1, as well as Secondary School No. 1 named after Mirza Ulugbek, constructed as a gift on behalf of the Uzbek people. The visitors were informed about the modern infrastructure created at these institutions, innovative approaches applied, and the opportunities established for the comprehensive development of children.
During the visit to Shusha, the delegation explored the city’s historical and cultural monuments. Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, provided information about the large-scale reconstruction and restoration works underway in the city.
The delegation also visited Garabagh University in the city of Khankendi and became acquainted with the university’s modern educational infrastructure and academic environment. It was emphasized that the university has significant potential in training highly qualified specialists who will contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
During the visit, it was highlighted that the large-scale reconstruction efforts, modern infrastructure projects, and favorable investment environment created in the liberated territories are making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the region. The parties also reviewed opportunities to expand cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank Group in the fields of industry, education, social infrastructure, and entrepreneurship development.
