On February 18, the Ministry of Economy organized media tour to the Aghdam Industrial Park.

Media representatives got familiar with the Aghdam Industrial Park, and were reported that the Park was established on 190 hectares by the Presidential Decree dated May 28, 2021. The priority activities of the Industrial Park include the production of building materials, packaging of agricultural products, canned fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy products, feed, fertilizers, as well as the organization of service areas, refrigerating chambers, etc. Construction work in the Industrial Park is being carried out in stages. Firstly, efforts have begun on clearing the Park from mines and ammunition, and more than 74 hectares of the 190-hectare area have been cleared, and work continues in other areas. A mobile township has already been built in the Industrial Park, where residents are offered a container-type office, a hostel, a medical center, a shop, a pharmacy and a canteen, and landscaping work has been carried out. There are ATMs in the Park.

A sub-artesian well with 350 meters deep was drilled to supply water to the Industrial Park’s construction site. A 10 kV power line was laid in the area with the installation of a 630 kV transformer substation. After liberation from occupation, the first electricity and water supply system in Aghdam has been installed in the territory of Aghdam Industrial Park. The Industrial Park is illuminated using solar panels.

Topographic-planning and geological engineering surveys have been accomplished on 74 hectares of the Aghdam Industrial Park. The topographic planning identified the geometric dimensions of the destroyed buildings in the Park and the amount of waste to be removed from the territory. In the course of geological prospecting work, the composition and lithological characteristics, physical and mechanical properties of rocks in the Park were determined.

Entrepreneurs are showing great interest in the Aghdam Industrial Park, which has already registered 5 business entities as residents (Dadash-N LLC, Veliev LLC, Smartpoint LLC, Ram International Transport and Trade LLC, Ağ Tekstil LLC). Currently, the Economic Zones Development Agency is reviewing more than 10 projects submitted by entrepreneurs for implementation in the Industrial Park. Ventilation, fire-fighting equipment and metal products, concrete production, heavy equipment maintenance and restoration and production of some metal parts, production of orthopedic mattresses and upholstered furniture (sofas and armchairs), sewage and drinking water pipes, etc. are the main activities of the presented projects.

On February 13, the groundwork of two enterprises was laid in the Aghdam Industrial Park with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

As part of the project to be implemented here, Smartpoint LLC will organize the production of lampposts and other devices fed by alternative and renewable energy sources (mainly solar energy). The investment cost of the project totals to 9.1 mln manat. Turkish and Italian technologies will be used at the enterprise, which will be created within the framework of the project. The enterprise is expected to produce 21,000 lampposts and other devices with a capacity of 40 MWs per year. Smartpoint LLC will enjoy all the benefits (complete infrastructure and tax exemptions) provided to residents of the Industrial Park. The enterprise, which will be built on 1.3 hectares of the Industrial Park, will create 80 permanent jobs. The products will be sold on the domestic market and exported to Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Another resident, Dadash-N LLC, will produce various synthetic carpets as part of a project to be implemented in the Industrial Park. The enterprise to be established as part of the project will produce 700,000 square meters of carpets per year with an investment cost of 9.5 million manats. The production process will use local raw materials such as polypropylene, polyethylene and polyacryl, and Belgian and Chinese technologies. LLC "Dadash-N" will also enjoy all the benefits provided for residents of the Industrial Park. The enterprise, which will be built on 2 hectares of the Industrial Park, will create 60 permanent jobs. In addition to domestic sales, the products are also planned to be exported to the CIS.

In addition, economic entities planning to implement projects for the production of precast concrete products, polymer products, uniforms, special and individual clothing are also registered as residents of the Aghdam Industrial Park.
