A media tour was organized to the Sumgayit Industrial Park, where journalists were introduced to newly launched enterprises and informed about the park’s growing industrial ecosystem.
The Sumgayit Industrial Park, managed by the Economic Zones Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy, currently hosts 40 resident companies operating on a total area of 640 hectares. Resident projects are valued at 6.7 billion manats, with actual investments reaching 5.5 billion manats. To date, 6,135 people have been provided with permanent employment, while total product sales have exceeded 15.4 billion manats, including 5.7 billion manats in exports to 70 countries worldwide.
During the visit, media representatives toured the facilities of newly operational enterprises, including “Azermirror” LLC and “Baku Cardboard and Box Factory” LLC, and were briefed on ongoing and planned projects aimed at meeting domestic demand and expanding exports.
It was also noted that a wide range of incentives and support mechanisms are applied for residents to promote entrepreneurship in industrial zones. Resident companies are provided with ready infrastructure developed at the expense of state funds, including gas, electricity, water supply, wastewater systems, internal road and railway networks, as well as fiber-optic internet lines. In addition, residents are granted a 10-year exemption from property, land, and profit taxes, as well as from value-added tax and customs duties on machinery, technological equipment, and installations imported for production purposes.
