Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan Wolfgang Manig.
Mikayil Jabbarov stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with EU countries, especially Germany. It was noted that the effective work of the German-Azerbaijani High-Level Working Group on Trade and Investment, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce is important in the development of relations, and the next meeting of the Working Group later this year can contribute to expansion of this cooperation. It was noted that a Vocational Education Center was recently established in Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, using the German experience. Thus, it is important to continue cooperation in this field. German companies can take advantage of Azerbaijan's favorable investment and business environment, transport and transit opportunities.
During the meeting, the Minister of Economy informed about the measures taken during the pandemic, the current economic situation, reforms, the establishment of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding and the Economic Council, and the directions of economic development for the post-pandemic period.
Wolfgang Manig, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan, stressed his country's interest in developing relations with Azerbaijan and shared his vision of the prospects for cooperation.
At the meeting focused on the development of relations between Azerbaijani and German companies, the parties discussed the questions of the continued participation of managers in training courses in Germany, cooperation between the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and the Agency for Small and Medium Business Development and etc.
