On June 10, Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park LLC organized an event on the topic "Cooperation between universities and industry: the experience of the Technical University OSTIM", with the support of the Ministry of Economy.

The event, held at the Vocational Education Center under the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park LLC, was attended by representatives of the relevant state structures of Azerbaijan and Turkey and residents of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park.

The business event aimed at ensuring sustainable cooperation between universities and industrial enterprises, the widespread use of scientific potential in industry, the expansion of R&D and the innovative activity of residents of industrial parks.

Director of Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park LLC Elshad Nuriyev informed about the favorable conditions enabled for entrepreneurs in industrial parks and industrial areas in accordance with the industrialization policy pursued in the country. Mr. Nuriyev stressed that Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park LLC attaches great importance to cooperation with scientific and educational institutions for the training of professional personnel in the field of industry, and also established relations with many local and foreign educational institutions.

Nijat Mammadli, Head of the Department of Science, Higher and Secondary Specialized Education at the Ministry of Education, shared his views on the importance of cooperation between universities and industry, the need for internship programs for training industrial personnel, while the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of Ganja State University Parvin Karimzade talked of cooperation between the state, education and business.

Taking part in the event in the video format, the Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Middle East Industry and Trade Center (OSTIM) Orhan Aydin spoke about the activities of the organization, noting that OSTIM is a network that interacts with the industrial sector through technology parks located in the regions, and stressed the importance of establishing cooperation between OSTIM and industrial zones operating in Azerbaijan.

The Chancellor of the Azerbaijan Technical University Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the cooperation between his University and the OSTIM Technical University in the field of the exchange of teachers and students, as well as new opportunities created on the basis of interaction of universities and industry formed against the background of the development of the innovative industry in our country, and emphasized that every year several students of the Azerbaijan Technical University will have an internship in the OSTIM Industrial Zone.

The Chancellor of OSTIM Technical University Murat Ali Yulek spoke about the possibilities of cooperation with Azerbaijani universities and the importance of relations between the universities and industry. According to Murat Ali Yulek, OSTIM Technical University is the first higher educational institution created on the territory of OSTIM.

Residents of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, representatives of Azertechnoline LLC, SOCAR Polymer LLC and STP LLC informed of the cooperation of their enterprises with many universities.

The event featured videos on the activities of industrial parks in Azerbaijan and the OSTIM Technical University, as well as held discussions on this regard.
